THIS WEEK'S REVIEW: VEGGIETALES: WIZARD OF HA'S |
Bottom Line: If you like the classic style of VeggieTales story telling, you will enjoy The Wonderful Wizard of Ha’s.
The Wizard of Ha’s is a retelling of The Prodigal’s Son from the Bible, using the classic story Wizard of Oz as a means to tell it. Junior plays the role of Darby, who wants to go see the Wonderful Land of Ha’s. There’s only one problem: his dad won’t let him go, but for good reason. So, Darby decides to do what he wants to do, and goes anyway. This decision takes him on a path to a strange land and meets up with a Tin Man, a Scarecrow, and a Lion (played by Larry the Cucumber, Mr. Lunt, and Pa Grape, respectively) Is the Wonderful Land of Ha’s all it’s cracked up to be? You’ll have to watch the video to find out! Also included is a brand new Silly Song titled "Monkey", which is very funny and catchy!
The production quality of the episode is very good. The music is spot on, along with the visuals! It’s also awesome to have Phil Vischer, the creator of Veggietales, as the writer for this episode. Phil Vischer has a unique style in his writing that makes watching an episode written by him a special treat. The story makes you laugh and it makes you think too. The quality of the DVDs production, in terms of behind-the-scenes features, DVD menus, and activities, is great, which is true with all Veggietales DVDs. You’ll have plenty to do after you see the episode!
If you are a Veggietales fan or not, young or old, this is a great DVD to have in your collection! It’s got a great Christian message and is a lot of fun, too!
