JELLY TELLY IS LIVE!
Tuesday, November 4th, 2008
Late Monday night, JellyTelly went live! JellyTelly is a Christian-themed, on demand, online TV network by VeggieTales creator Phil Vischer. We posted in an earlier report about the announcement of JellyTelly, but the beta website is now up!
Daily, JellyTelly allows users to watch about a unique 20 minute block of programming Monday through Saturday, with a special program every Sunday. The programs are on demand, so you can watch that block any time you want. JellyTelly archives the programming so that you can watch the last 6 days of programs if you miss it or want to watch it again. JellyTelly also gives you access to many flash-based games created just for JellyTelly.
The content of the block of programming includes segments created by Phil Vischer and the creative team at JellyFish Labs and 3rd party programming from other Christian-media producers.
JellyTelly is subscription based. Monthly, you pay a fee to access the programming and games. In a recent blog post, Phil said that "we weren't able to institute the "name your own price" policy right from the beginning due to technology restraints. So we picked one low "flat" price for now, roughly half of what most kids sites are charging." That flat rate is only $2.99, which is awesome! You have the choice of having the first month free or going ahead and subscribing when you sign up.
