THIS WEEK'S REVIEW: JONAH: A VEGGIETALES MOVIE |
The first VeggieTales video, Where's God When I'm S-Scared, originally released in 1993. That was only the beginning. In the years to come, VeggieTales would continue to tell stories. It was inevitable that one day the veggies would grace the silver screen. Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie released in theatres in 2002.
On their way to concert, the veggie crew's car breaks down, and they start to get angry with each other. As they wait for it to get fixed, The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything enter the scene and tell them the story of Jonah as a way to illustrate their need to have compassion and mercy for each other. The movie does a great job of re-telling the story of Jonah and having the signature VeggieTales flavor we're used to.
Most VeggieTales videos last about 30-50 minutes, but Jonah was the first feature length story. Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie was the first Christian-themed CGI animated movie to be released in theatres. The film also did amazing in theatres, grossing over $25 Million.
If you're looking for a solid movie for any age group, make sure to check out Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie!
