THIS WEEK'S REVIEW: THE APPOINTMENT |
What if an angel of the Lord came to you and told you the date of when you would die? How would that affect your life? The Appointment seeks to answer that question.
The story is about a newspaper reporter that is bitter towards God and Christians. Every chance she gets, she writes an article about the flaws of Christianity and how the church is full of hypocrites. Then one day, an angel of the Lord tell her the date and time that she will die. She doesn't believe it at first, but as the days draw near, she gets more and more worried. Was it really an angel? What if she does die on that day?
This is a solid film. Solid story, solid camera work, and a solid message.
That are a lot of problems that go on in Christianity. Things that are against the Bible. I like how in the beginning of the film we hear the main character reading a story she wrote about the church, about how messed up it is. Most of what she says is true. But despite all of her problems with the people of the church, she still has to face the question of eternity: Where do you go when you die, and how do you get to heaven. It's true in life. It doesn't matter if every person who claims to be a Christian isn't doing what they should, every person is still faced with these questions. The answers to these questions are presented very well in this film.
Be sure to check out The Appointment on DVD. It will make you think.
