THIS WEEK'S REVIEW: VEGGIETALES: THE TOY THAT SAVED CHRISTMAS |
Dinkletown thinks Christmas is about getting stuff, no thanks to Mr. Nezzer's TV campaign of "Christmas is when you get stuff!" It's also fueled by the release of his new toy, Buzz-Saw Louie! However, one of the Buzz-Saw Louie toys doesn't like what's going on, so he escapes the toy factory so he can find the true meaning of Christmas. Along the way, he meets up with Bob, Larry, and Junior, and soon they all find the meaning of Christmas! How are they going to tell that to Dinkletown?
The Toy that Saved Christmas is a classic! The story is great, the signature Veggie humor is there, and it explains the meaning of the season. One of the things that sets The Toy that Saved Christmas apart from other Christmas specials is the story shift during the episode. The story starts with the characters trying to find the meaning of Christmas, and then when they find out, the story doesn't end there like a lot of Christmas specials. The character's next goal is to find a way to tell that story to others. It really makes this Christmas special unique.
This was the 6th VeggieTales video release, so the animation might not be the same quality of the newer VeggieTales episodes, but that doesn't take away from the episode. It's a classic.
Make a new holiday tradition by adding The Toy that Saved Christmas to your Christmas movie lineup! Pick up The Toy that Saved Christmas on a single DVD, or in the VeggieTales Holiday Pack!
